Today was great! This morning we woke up and had a great breakfast of pancakes and sausage and then hit the road. We drove 3 hours to San Juan. I sat next to Lindsay and talked to her for a while. She’s from California and is going into the nursing program at SUU.

The countryside is beautiful. San Juan is in a big fertile valley so there is lots of agriculture.

The guesthouse here is really nice. The weather has been warm and humid but not too hot. After a lunch of tacos we got an orientation. Kamanda’s grandpa owned a semi-truck business and his friend was a doctor. They decided to start this mission here and built the guesthouse and the clinic in the early 90’s.

They are building a new clinic that is massive. 40,000 sq ft and worth around 4 million dollars. All of it has been built on donations. After lunch and orientation we sorted vitamins and prepared our kits for the week. All of our donations made it safely and made a huge contribution to the pharmacy. I’m really excited to work this week in the clinics.
